A new project supporting people and the healthcare system during wartime!

Medical, psychological and social support for people, assistance for emergency healthcare workers and stronger local healthcare facilities are the main priorities of a new project involving “100% LIFE”. The project will run from July 2026 to June 2028.

The war makes it harder to access healthcare and places increasing pressure on professionals who help people every day. Rural and frontline communities face particularly acute challenges. The new project combines direct assistance to people with efforts to strengthen the local health system and support healthcare workers.

Project activities will cover the Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Kyiv and Poltava regions. Selected activities, including training for emergency medical dispatchers and psychological support for professionals, will be implemented nationwide.

Medical care and psychosocial support

The project will support a mobile medical team providing primary healthcare and psychosocial support services.

The 100% LIFE clinics in Kyiv and Poltava, established by patients for patients, will provide sexual and reproductive healthcare for women and men.

Patients will be able to receive medical consultations, undergo diagnostic examinations and laboratory tests, access testing for HIV, viral hepatitis and syphilis, and receive psychological support. Particular attention will be paid to supporting survivors of gender-based violence.

Details of available services, locations and how to access care will be published separately.

Strengthening emergency medical services

One area of work involves developing and implementing standardised dispatch protocols and training emergency medical dispatchers. These activities aim to improve the operation of emergency medical services.

Emergency medical teams, paramedics and first responders will receive training in self-care and mental health support. Healthcare workers providing emergency care will also be able to access psychological consultations online and by telephone once these services are launched.

Supporting local healthcare facilities

The project will procure and deliver equipment, medical devices and consumables to rural health posts and other medical facilities in frontline and neighbouring areas. Rural healthcare facilities will also receive hygiene products and disinfectants.

Staff training will cover infection prevention and control, as well as the identification of protection risks. Particular attention will be paid to preventing burnout among healthcare workers in rural and frontline facilities.

Together, these activities aim to help people access the support they need and strengthen the professionals and facilities that make this support available in their communities.

Updates on project implementation, available services, contact details and training opportunities will be published on the “100% LIFE” website and social media channels.
