From 26 to 31 July 2026, the 100% LIFE team will participate in the 26th International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2026) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Representatives of the organization will contribute to scientific sessions, panel discussions, satellite events, and poster presentations, highlighting Ukraine’s experience in responding to HIV during wartime, advancing digital innovations, protecting patients’ rights, and advocating for equitable access to treatment.

Participation in AIDS 2026 provides an important opportunity for 100% LIFE to share approaches that have helped sustain HIV services during the ongoing war in Ukraine and to strengthen the global dialogue on the vital role of communities in achieving HIV epidemic control.

From Community Power to Global Solutions

On 26 July, 100% LIFE experts will contribute to the ITPC Global Treatment Pre-Conference. Dmytro Sherembey will participate in a session focused on the role of communities in defending access to HIV treatment in the age of austerity and digital transformation. Anastasiia Homeniuk and Veronika Kochubei will present civil society perspectives on overcoming barriers to access medicines and health technologies.

On 27 July, Krystyna Rivera will moderate the session “Building Community Networks for Sustained HIV Care Among Migrants and Refugees.” The discussion will explore sustainable models of support, referral, and access to HIV services for migrants and displaced populations.

Later that day, Veronika Kochubei and Anastasiia Homeniuk will lead the discussion “Breaking Monopolies, Saving Lives,” presenting Ukraine’s experience in addressing intellectual property barriers and expanding access to life-saving medicines.

Digital Innovation and Services for Key Populations

On 28 July, the organization will showcase the international expansion of ITC DataCheck Global. Oksana Yarovenko and Yuliia Chekhotkina will present how digital infrastructure can support social service verification, client navigation, and real-time service monitoring across Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Germany.

During a satellite session, Valeriia Rachynska will share lessons learned from coordinating public sector and civil society efforts to ensure uninterrupted access to HIV testing and linkage to care throughout the war in Ukraine.

Ukrainian Experience in the Scientific Programme

The 100% LIFE team will also present a series of scientific posters covering key areas of the organization’s work:

• Creating demand for facility-based HIV testing through mobilising family doctors as peer-led ambassadors during International Testing Week in Ukraine (Yuliia Chekhotkina);
• Systematic monitoring of patent applications and pre-grant oppositions as effective tools against evergreening practices (Veronika Kochubei);
• Digital outreach and peer-led surveys to reach key populations with HIV services during wartime in Ukraine (Oksana Yarovenko);
• The impact of community-led paralegal support on achieving the HIV 95-95-95 cascade in Ukraine (Valeriia Rachynska);
• Reverse digital innovation in HIV care: adapting Ukraine’s DataCheck case management system for migrant referral in Germany (Oleksandr Kulchenko);
• Removing intellectual property barriers to accelerate access to affordable HIV treatment in Ukraine (Anastasiia Homeniuk).

In addition, on 29 July, Anastasiia Homeniuk will deliver an oral presentation titled “Beyond Government and Industry: Overcoming Intellectual Property Barriers,” focusing on the role of civil society in addressing legal and economic obstacles to treatment access.

Participation in AIDS 2026 offers a unique opportunity to bring Ukraine’s experience to the global HIV community, demonstrating how access to healthcare services can be maintained during times of crisis, how digital solutions can strengthen public health systems, and how community leadership can drive meaningful change.
