Visit of the GF to the office of the All-Ukrainian Network of PLWH

On August 8, 2017, a meeting with a team of Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM) Inspectors led by Inspector General Mouhamadou Diagne was held at the All-Ukrainian Network of PLWH. “We are inspecting countries to check the implementation of new projects to combat the HIV/AIDS and TB epidemic. Now the turn of Ukraine has come, and we are sure that we will be able to help organizations in the field to improve their activities”, said Nezar Al-Hadaii, lead auditor of the mission.

Inspectors reviewed the experience of work and procedures of the Network. In addition, they discussed projects in the health care sector of Ukraine aimed at combating the HIV epidemic; the main issues faced by the organization during the implementation of the GF programs; the effectiveness of the coordination of civil society, government and development partners, as well as the possible changes in the grant management in Ukraine to be carried out by the GFATM.

“We introduced the Inspector general to our achievements in the fight against the epidemic and the plans of the largest patient organization for the next 3 years. We are open, transparent and ready for effective cooperation with the Global Fund”, said Dmytro Sherembey, Chairman of the Coordination Council of the Network.
