The network conducted a DOTS-supported training for patients with susceptible and resistant tuberculosis
On December 20-21, 2017, the final third training on DOTS-management of patients with sensitive and resistant tuberculosis was conducted in Kyiv for winners of the open competition in the framework of the application of Ukraine to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria to finance a programme to combat tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS from 2018 to 2020 in the Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, Kirovograd, Dnipropetrovsk regions and Kyiv according to the programme’s areas: 21M (DOTS sensitive TB), 22M (DOTS resistant TB).
Two previous trainings were held in Sumy (for the Zaporizhzhya, Luhansk, Chernihiv, and Kharkiv regions) from 07 to 08 December 2017 and in Ternopil (for the Rivne, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, Khmelnytskyi, and Ternopil regions), from 12 to 13 December 2017.
Seventy-five tuberculosis specialist, nurses, social workers, and NGO leaders were trained according to the training programme.
The training was conducted with the participation of Terleeva Yana Serhiyivna, the head of the Centre for Control of Socially Dangerous Diseases of the Centre for Public Health of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, Chepurnyi Oleksandr Volodymyrovych, the manager and coordinator of the NGO Infectious Control in Ukraine project and Varchenko Yurii Anatoliyovych, the Network’s leading specialist of TB national and international programmes.
