Implementation period: 01 May 2025 – 30 April 2027
Geography: Germany
Deutsche Aidshilfe, 100 PERCENT LIFE Germany (the European representation of the Ukrainian NGO “100% Life”), and the National HIV/AIDS Hotline in Ukraine have joined forces to improve access to medical services and psychological support for Ukrainian migrants living with HIV and members of key populations in Germany.
The goal of the project is to create a convenient, accessible, and culturally sensitive navigation system for medical, social, and legal services for Ukrainians affected by the war and in need of HIV-related support.
Support: The project is implemented with financial support from the Elton John AIDS Foundation, which has been working to end the HIV epidemic globally for over 30 years.
🔹 Digital solution: DATACHECK Connect
Based on the Ukrainian DATACHECK UKRAINE brand, an IT platform will be developed to help users find up-to-date medical, social, and legal services, support groups, shelters, and more.
Additionally, a telephone-based assisted interpretation service will be available during medical visits.
🔹 Collaboration with the National HIV Hotline
Ukrainians will be able to receive consultations in their native language, including psychological support for those who have experienced forced displacement.
🔹 Legal chatbot
A tool to provide answers to frequently asked questions about the rights of people living with HIV in Germany, access to treatment, human rights protection, and infectious disease regulations.
According to the UN, over 1.2 million Ukrainian refugees are currently in Germany. Among them are thousands of people living with HIV and members of key populations who face language, geographic, psychological, and bureaucratic barriers.
This project aims to overcome those barriers and ensure dignified access to care.
