“ONE-ON-ONE” campaign will motivate Ukrainian get tested for HIV on the eve of the World AIDS Day

The “One-on-one” events will be held in all the regions of Ukraine in the eve of the World AIDS Day — we call on Ukrainian citizens to be honest with themselves and make a first step to knowing their HIV status and  take online HIV test “One-on-one” .

A special campaign will be dedicated to the World AIDS Day — during 2 weeks every person who downloads HIV Test mobile app and completes the online questionnaire will  receive a gift – a conceptual “FIGHT FOR LIFE” T-shirt, an eco-bag or a sticker pack.  This is the opportunity for everyone to join the mission of the largest patient organization —  FIGHT FOR LIFE. This is the way to persuade Ukrainians to practice a more conscientious attitude to their health and improve HIV awareness.

The campaign will be presented in Kyiv on November 29 at 10.00 near the Red Ribbon Memorial (23 Lavrska Str, near the Kyiv-Pecherska Lavra). The representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers, Verkhovna Rada, Kyiv Municipal State Administration, international partners and UN organizations will take part in the event. Once the event is over, a media briefing will take place.

Media briefing participants:

  • Dmytro Sherembey, Chairman of the CO “100% Life”

  • Volodymyr Kurpita, Director of the MoH Center of Public Health
  • Roman Hailevych, Director, UNAIDS Ukraine
  • Kristina A. Kvien, Deputy Chief of Mission, US Embassy in Ukraine
  • Mykola Povoroznyk, Deputy Mayor of Kyiv
  • Olha Rudnieva, Director of Olena Pinchuk’s Foundation
  • Andriy Klepikov, Chairman of the ICF “Alliance of Public Health”

During the event, participants will be offered to try the updated HIV Test mobile application and to order a symbolic gift from the community of people fighting for Life. The mobile app provides an updated list of all testing sites in the country and will automatically offer users an online map with the nearest testing site upon completing the online test. Testing at these sites is free.

After the media briefing, everyone will be able to take an HIV test, take selfies in the photo area and record one-on-one interviews.

Ukraine ranks among the top Eastern European countries in terms of HIV prevalence. According to estimates from the Public Health Center, about 200,000 HIV-positive people live in the country today and half of them are still unaware of their status. More than 50% of new HIV cases are detected at the clinical stages II or IV, when it is almost impossible to halt the disease progress. And only timely testing can change these statistics.

The 100% LIFE charitable organization starts a special campaign by December 1. Within 2 weeks, anyone who downloads the HIV Test application and passes the One-on-one HIV online test will surely receive a gift – a conceptual “FIGHT FOR LIFE” T-shirt or a bag or sticker.
