The “Life Without Pain” project is launching in Ukraine — the first patient-run pharmacy offering medical cannabis will become a reality thanks to support from the International Renaissance Foundation.

The charitable organization 100% Life, the largest patient organization in Ukraine, announces the launch of a new conceptual project, Life Without Pain, which aims to make effective pain relief available to everyone who needs it.

Chronic pain is a daily reality for millions of Ukrainians: people with serious illnesses, patients in the final stages of cancer, those in palliative care, and thousands of veterans returning from the front lines with physical and psychological trauma. In such conditions, access to modern treatment is not only a matter of quality of life, but also a matter of human dignity.

Our goal is to expand access to effective therapeutic agents for seriously ill people.

“A life without pain is a basic right of every human being,” emphasizes Dmytro Sherembei, head of the 100% Life Charitable Organization. “We have fought for many years to make medical cannabis-based medicines available in Ukraine. The next logical step is to create a pharmacy where anyone who needs it can get treatment legally, without stigma or unnecessary bureaucracy.”

What is medical cannabis?

Medical cannabis is a medicine that contains active ingredients from the cannabis plant and is prescribed exclusively by a doctor for the treatment of chronic pain, epilepsy, PTSD, anxiety disorders, inflammatory processes, neurodegenerative conditions, as well as to alleviate symptoms in patients with late-stage cancer and in palliative care. In many countries around the world, medical cannabis is already part of standard therapy — and it is time for Ukrainian patients to have access to it as well.

In Ukraine, the circulation of medical cannabis is regulated by current legislation. Preparations are available only by prescription and meet established quality and safety standards. We operate exclusively within the legal framework, ensuring that patients have access to effective and controlled treatment.
