The Let Your Heart Beat Charitable Foundation was established on December 16, 2008. One of the main areas of the Foundation’s activity was advocating for the rights of PLHIV, holding mass events, and implementing programs for the care of PLHIV and children affected by the HIV/AIDS epidemic, with the support of the All-Ukrainian Network of PLHIV. In 2010, with the support of the International Alliance, we launched activities to prevent HIV/AIDS and STIs among sex workers.
We gradually expanded the scope of our work, our circle of partners, and our territory of activity. By 2013, we had already covered the cities of Zhytomyr, Berdychiv, and Korosten with our services and initiatives.
Today, the Let Your Heart Beat Charitable Foundation is one of the most powerful non-governmental organizations in the Zhytomyr region, with an established reputation and successful experience in HIV/AIDS and other socially dangerous diseases prevention among SW, as well as in social support for HIV-positive adults and children, advocacy, and anti-corruption measures. We are known and respected by government officials at all levels in the Zhytomyr region, our partners, and our clients.
Today, the Let Your Heart Beat Charitable Foundation is successfully operating in the following cities in the Zhytomyr region: Zhytomyr, Novograd-Volynskyi, Berdychiv, and Korosten. In each of these cities, we have premises provided for the Foundation’s activities on friendly and preferential terms. In addition, the Foundation’s activities cover 22 district centers in the Zhytomyr region.
Over the years, we have managed to create a fully-fledged organization with strong leaders and effective management, with an established reputation, proven results, and a readiness to act.
In 2015, we developed a Transition Period Strategy project that will ensure the sustainability of preventive services currently funded by the GF. The draft strategy was submitted to a working group for consideration and approved by a decision of the Zhytomyr Regional Coordination Council for HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis Prevention.
As a result of her hard work, Natalia Nagorna, director of the Let Your Heart Beat Charitable Foundation, is a member of local and regional coordination councils on HIV/AIDS and can directly influence the process of democratic reform at both the local and regional levels.
