Memorandum of Understanding between CO “100% Life” and the Danish Refugee Council in Ukraine
CO “100% Life” and the Danish Refugee Council in Ukraine have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, as both partners pay great attention to human rights activities.
Since 2018, CO “100% Life” has been implementing a project to establish a mechanism for legal protection of the rights of people living with HIV/AIDS, TB patients and representatives of key populations with HIV, funded by the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
Under the project, its beneficiaries are able to receive qualified legal advice, legal support in pre-trial cases involving the protection of violated rights in state and local governments, enterprises, organizations, institutions of all forms of ownership and subordination, and legal support in strategic litigation in national courts and the European Court of Human Rights.
The project continues to be implemented and representatives of the project’s target group will be able to receive free legal aid in 2025.
Since 2020, a chatbot platform for providing legal advice “Legal Bot 100% LIFE” (Yur.bot) has been operating on the website of the CO “100% Life” and in messengers (Viber, Telegram, Facebook Messenger). It was developed to provide useful information to users who need information on HIV, tuberculosis, and hepatitis. Yurbot contains a section with answers to about 140 frequently asked questions, which are grouped into 10 blocks:
- HIV+
TB
Discrimination
Martial law
Social issues
Personal life
Pregnant and postpartum women
OST
How to get HIV treatment
Viral hepatitis
Yurbot also has a function to obtain information about the nearest legal office that provides free consultations and the nearest social organization that provides social services to people living with HIV. To do this, the user is asked to enter their city or information about their current location. Yurbot analyzes the entered data and provides information about the nearest reception center or social organization of the project with the address and contact details.
CO “100% Life” supports the functioning of Yurbot, which is a convenient and fast tool for obtaining useful legal and medical information anywhere and anytime, provided that the user has a mobile phone or computer.
In turn, the Danish Refugee Council in Ukraine is implementing the PravoVsim project, a modern digital platform that provides access to free legal aid for all citizens, especially those in difficult life circumstances. “We understand how important it is to receive timely, qualified support in legal matters, and therefore offer a wide range of services so that everyone can understand complex legal situations,” emphasize the project team. “Our mission is to ensure that citizens can get the necessary legal support quickly, conveniently, and at any time without leaving their homes.
The platform employs experienced lawyers who are ready to provide legal advice online through web resources or using various communication tools – phone calls, video calls, chat, and other channels convenient for the beneficiary: “We strive to ensure complete comfort for the platform users, giving them the opportunity to choose the most convenient way to get advice.”
“PravoVsim provides consultations that allow it to provide quality legal assistance to both citizens in Ukraine and Ukrainians abroad who have left for various reasons. The platform plays a particularly important role for those who were forced to leave the country due to armed conflicts, as many legal issues in such situations require urgent resolution.
Thus, PravoVsim is an important resource for citizens in need of legal support: “We strive to be a reliable partner in solving legal problems, providing quality and prompt assistance to everyone who needs it,” the platform’s experts say.
The partners plan to join their efforts to raise awareness of their rights, provide legal support to those who wish to defend their rights, and contribute to the development of the rule of law in Ukraine.
