CO 100% Life provided over 90,000 patients with HIV antiretroviral therapy

100% Life delivered 146,640 packages of TLD (Tenofovir + Lamivudine + Dolutegravir) to all regions of Ukraine within a week. The supply of medicines is supported by the PEPFAR program.  

More than 90,000 HIV patients were provided with six-month treatment packages. One vial contains a three-month supply of medication for one patient. The medicines are available in city AIDS centers in all regions of Ukraine. Some medicines are also available in stock in the 100% Life warehouse. 

The hostilities in Ukraine destroyed all supply chains of the medicines transported to Ukraine. The 100% Life procurement officers were able to ensure the medicine logistics at a record pace by transiting through Poland.

“In the first days of war, the clearance procedure for humanitarian goods delivered through Poland was still at an implementation stage; thus few people understood how the instruments worked, and manufacturers preferred not to ship their goods due to that uncertainty. We spent almost a week persuading them to issue us documents and trying to figure out the instruments that contradicted each other,” — says Yevheniia Rudenko, Head of the CO 100% Life Procurements. — “We then established cooperation with the warehouses of the Polish State Agency for Strategic Reserves, which was available for expensive supplies (because the cargo of medicines cost about $3 million). After that, we agreed with the Ukrzaliznytsia railway company to ship medicines to Ukraine directly to our warehouses to be further rapidly delivered to the regions”

Yevheniia Rudenko adds that the team’s perseverance and professionalism and 100% Life’s well-developed logistics network allowed preventing the interruption of treatment for more than 90,000 HIV patients.

The therapy drugs were purchased and delivered with the support of the PEPFAR program.
