The network is implementing a joint project with the Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union

Since February 2018, the Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union (UHHRU) has provided free assistance to vulnerable HIV groups. This project is implemented together with the Network and the National Hotline on HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis.

The Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union will work within the project together with organizations working with target groups. Last week the All-Ukrainian Network of PLWH signed a memorandum of cooperation with the National Hotline on HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis. In the near future, the memoranda will be signed with a number of other organizations.

Target groups that can receive free legal assistance are those living with HIV/AIDS, persons with tuberculosis and representatives of key communities vulnerable to HIV (injecting drug users, sex workers, men who have sex with men, prisoners and ex-prisoners, women living with HIV, and adolescents affected by the HIV epidemic).

UHHRU will provide assistance in the areas of medical, labour, administrative and criminal law; violation of the continuity of treatment; gender equality and related offenses, as well as the prohibition of torture, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment of persons belonging to target groups.

Free legal support can be obtained throughout Ukraine at the UHHRU’s Network of public reception offices in 10 cities. The offices in Kyiv, Sumy, Dnipro, Kherson, Lviv, Khmelnytskyi, Chernihiv, Rivne, Kropivnitskyi and Kharkiv will work in this direction.
