Humanitarian coordination to support residents of Chernigiv region in the areas of combating gender-biased violence and promoting sexual and reproductive health

Since the end of 2022, a working group has been working in the Chernihiv region to coordinate the humanitarian response to gender-based violence (GBV) in support of the UNFPA   population in Ukraine) and in cooperation with the Chernihiv regional administration . The group is an advisory and advisory body that brings together representatives of structural units of the OVA, law enforcement agencies, government agencies, representatives of international and non-governmental organizations.

 

At the end of the year 2025, a work group meeting was held near Chernigov. The meeting has become an important platform for discussing key issues and trends in the field of sexual and reproductive health (SRH) in Ukraine. Respect was given to the plan of humanitarian needs in Ukraine for 2025 and the response in minds to the reduction of donor funding, including the integration of SRH services and public health services in Chernihiv region and shlyakhs redirection and mapping of services in the region.

Among the participants of the meeting were representatives of the project “Mobile teams of sexual and reproductive health”, which is promoted by the largest patient organization in Ukraine BO “100% Living” together with UNFPA 12 regions of the country from the end of 2022.

A project involving the activities of mobile gynecological direct teams to reduce access to services to the female population in small towns and villages, where access to similar consultative and medical services is limited. During the 2 years of the project’s activity, 6,500 patients in the Chernihiv region received assistance from specialists of the mobile gynecological team.

Galina Leontievna Lenik, regional medical coordinator of the project in the Chernihiv region and v.o. The head physician of the KNP “Shelter Budinok” of Chernihivskaya Municipality presented the robot of a mobile gynecological team and a room with barrier-free access, created on the basis of the canopy booth. Mrs. Galina said: “Such confederates welcome the exchange of evidence, information and opportunities given by sovereigns, unruly and international organizations. The participants got stuck into the work of the mobile team and the office has barrier-free access, and the service level is high. For organizations that provide social and psychological services, it is important to be able to refer a person who requires medical assistance. social doctors, psychologists and other specialists will ensure clear results and bring benefit to people.”

Mobile gynecological teams operate within the framework of the humanitarian response of UNFPA, the UN Fund for Human Population in Ukraine, with financial support from the European Union, the authorities of Spain, Norway, Sweden, Ireland and Austria.

  • Patients can opt for consultations before choosing a doctor, contacting gynecologists or mobile teams (relevant for displaced migrants).
  • Doctors of various specializations can be contacted for consultation with obstetricians-gynecologists.
  • The line operates daily from 09:00 to 18:00, calls are free.
